Youth Baseball Skills Required
This section of the site deals with very fundamental
skills required for baseball at the youth level. Baseball hitting,
catching & fielding, and throwing are covered. Also, there are
some links to free plans for constructing your own batting tees and
batting cage.
You should work with your kids at home or as a coach
to make sure they have good form as they begin to throw, catch, and
bat. Then, get the kids as much extra practice as possible. When
the glove and bat become an "extension of their arm", they will become
great players. It is my finding that kids are sometimes are not too
enthusiastic to do extra practice at home. They will
usually be more than willing to spend a lot of time playing baseball
fun activities at home with friends or other family members. Check out
